Why do I not remove the Sal-Ex 30 Salicylic Acid Peel?
Sal-Ex 30 Salicylic Acid Peel is one the GlyMed Plus peels that are self-neutralizing meaning they stop working within a specific time frame.
I read that GlyMed Plus recommends advising the client to drink 6 to 8 glasses of water after the treatment. Why?
Because Sal-Ex Salicylic Acid Peel can get into the bloodstream, it is possible if the client is ill, tired, hungry, etc that they may get lightheaded from the treatment. Drinking the water helps flush the products out of the system more quickly eliminating this effect.
I have an acne client with Asian skin which I understand is sensitive to salicylic acid. I am concerned about doing the Sal-Ex 30 Salicylic Acid Peel on her skin. Do you have any suggestions?
To reduce risk of being too aggressive on clients with sensitive skin or younger acne clients, you can substitute the Serious Action Skin Astringent #5 or #10 for the Sal-Ex 30 Salicylic Acid Peel for the first one or two treatments. This will allow you to get the benefits of salicylic acid without the risk.
Is this product safe for pregnant or breastfeeding mums?
